Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

I thought it would be fun to compile all of my favorite "babies" from popular music into one giant montage. I hope you enjoy it and that you let me know who you THINK sang it best in the comments on YouTube!
Paul McCartney is a living legend. I’m just AMAZED when I think of his body of work. This video celebrates his ability to use his voice in a myriad of ways in order to suit the mood of the song he sings. What a talent!

Taking a line from Chet Baker's most famous solo (But Not For Me), we discuss how to REALLY internalize an important lick and make sure it becomes a DEEP part of you forever.
I've loved this song for a long time. About a year ago, I had the idea while I was driving to do the song with a 6/8 Afro Cuban-influenced feel. I recently decided to finish arranging it and record it. I play piano, guitar, and sing and I also did all the mixing and mastering on my own this time which is something I'm getting more and more comfortable with. I wouldn't mind some constructive criticism on that front if you have some. I'd like to dedicated this to my brother-in-law who IS a lineman, my sister and their girls.
Another extended practice (I have a whole playlist if you're interested) session video for you! I use a backing track from the iReal Pro app (this time with "Rhodes 2", accoustic bass and very little reverb - and try to develop my ideas as I play 25 choruses! I hope you enjoy it!
David Bennett (of David Bennett Piano) and I decided to each make a video about the influence of jazz on popular music. Here's my take on it!
