Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

Taking the tune, Summertime, we discuss what a "2 feel" is, and how the different players of the rhythm section go about playing it, and when to use it. Also shown, is an accompaniment style for playing this tune.
This is one of my favorite standards. I really had a nice time playing this one. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you for your support and for subscribing and sharing with your friends! Aimee Nolte
Countless gigs, but only 25 or so requests that keep popping up over and over again. Learn these songs and keep the people happy. From Journey to Adele, Queen to Roberta Flack...these are the songs that just keep on keeping on!
A couple of months ago, my student, Matthew Goldberg showed me a piano piece he had written, called "For A Little While." He's on the east coast and I teach him via Skype. Our lessons consist of him showing me a pdf of some composition he is working on, and me telling him what's good about it, and what could be better.
This is just a fun game to play to drive yourself and those around you crazy, and hopefully teach you something in the meantime.
It's going to scare you to death and NOBODY EVER TALKS ABOUT IT

Part of being a good musician is recognizing all the parts of music; every component that goes into making what we love. Rhythm is a huge part of that. Practicing drumming exercises is one of my favorite ways to expand the musician inside of me and I'd like to share some of my favorites with you!
