Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

When I asked my friends to help me come up with the most swinging pop and rock melodies they could think of, they really stepped up! I had fun putting together this list and playing them for you. In the follow-up video, we will talk about what makes a really good swinging melody and how to phrase it so that it swings even harder!
This is my new friend, Donaldo who stopped by for a lesson on his trip to Los Angeles. He's visiting from Nicaragua and he's trying to learn how to build a jazz solo. I was so happy to help! If you'd like to support my channel, you can donate here: https://paypal.me/aimn

Using Imagine Dragons' "It's Time", I walk you very slowly and methodically through the way I think about reharmonizing popular music to fit the jazz idiom. We draw from the melody and utilize chords from within the key and from out of the key to create color and excitement!
