Well, this is my family. The real us...just after we crossed the Mississippi River, headed across Iowa and into Missouri, on the way to John's grandpa's farm. At this point, we've been road-tripping for 9 days, and we may be a little loopy, but I still convinced them to sing a bit. I hope you enjoy these crazy wonderful people I'm proud to call my family. The NMU Jazz Festival will be held on the beautiful campus of Northern Michigan University on Thursday and Friday, April 12-13, 2018. High school and middle school jazz bands and combos in the region are invited to participate. There is a $250 entry fee for each participating ensemble (additional ensembles from the same school can register for $100). Space is limited. The registration deadline is March 2, 2018. This year's event will feature Aimee Nolte, an outstanding pianist and vocalist based out of Los Angeles, California. Originally from the small town of Weaverville, CA, Aimee started playing piano and singing at age 5 and began playing professionally at age 14. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a music degree and emphasis in jazz in 1998. For the next couple of years, Aimee resided in New York City before moving to the LA area in 2001 where she now resides and is the happy mother of 4 children. She continues to play and sing regularly all over Los Angeles County.
