How To Memorize Lyrics
Using one of the most lyrically-challenging songs I can think of, The Waters Of March (Aguas De Marco) I show you the visualization technique I use to memorize difficult lyrics. I also issue a challenge for rhythm section players and animators to submit themselves playing over my singing. MP3 and PDF for rhythm section players can be found in this page.

Calling all guitarists, bass players, drummers, pianists and animators! In my video today, "How To Memorize Lyrics," I teach how to memorize really difficult passages of lyrics and I use the tune "The Waters Of March" to do it. With the video, I issue a little challenge or contest. I have attached an mp3 of my vocal over the tune (or there's an mp3 with my vocal, plus a piano scratch track if that helps you) along with a pdf of the chart, and if you email me your playing and I like it, I'll choose it to be a part of the music video that I will release later this month. If I receive animation to go along with the track as well, it will REALLY be a cool video, but I'm not crossing my fingers that I'll reach any animators through my youtube channel. Regardless, if chosen, I'll give you credit in the video and video description, along with links to all of your recordings and social media. The tune is played at 130bpm and has a 4 bar intro and room for a piano solo halfway through (just as is indicated on the chart on my website). Pianists should only include very ornamental playing, just as Jobim does...tiny octaves here and there, and most importantly, the solo (include a whistle if you'd like, a la the Jobim recording) but keep it very simple. The guitar will do the comping. Only email me audio recordings and a photo of yourselves. I do not need video of your playing.
Only the selected musicians will be notified, but I'll continue to update you through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat.
Thanks everyone! Aimee
