Last weekend, I got to go to my home town of Weaverville, CA in Trinity County to sing "God Bless America" at the homecoming football game, and to play in the alumni volleyball game. I had so much fun with my family and friends, and I just had to show you where I come from!

Just a little humorous public service announcement, cautioning you to be careful about taking gigs from the super wealthy, super frugal client. I'd love to read about your experiences if you care to share! Thanks to Joshua Payne Orchestra for the backing track!

I grew up in Weaverville, a small gold rush town in Northern California. In late July, The Carr Fire threatened my town, and destroyed much of Trinity and Shasta Counties. There were 36,000 evacuations, 1,604 buildings lost, 8 lives taken, and much hope lost. My heart is in that place, and with those wonderful people who though they have lost much, still have each other and their memories. Photographs, taken by Jeff Dye in 2010, when the oaks and manzanitas were green and thriving, the lake was surrounded with lush forest, and the remnants of the mining town "Old Shasta" was painted with a beautiful backdrop of green and blossoms.
