Ether J. - "I've just finished this course on Nebula and I can't praise it enough. I'm not a jazz player, but am a musician who performs in other genres. I've made learning jazz one of my top goals, but haven't made much progress. Most teachers focus on scales, chords, arpeggios, etc. I am so tired of these!! In this course, Aimee takes a musical approach by focusing on motifs. This is brilliant! I have learned so much from these lessons that I just had to write about them. I now have an approach that I can understand to do my own solos. Thank you Aimee! You are the best!"

A very simple explanation of what a tritone is, how it functions as a substitute on dominant chords. Complete with examples from tunes you know!
If you have ever wondered what to do in the situation where there is more than one comping instrument, this video will give you some ideas! Really, your mother taught you what to do when you were three. Take turns! :-)
If you're like me, you have tried to sing a 3rd part along with these two geniuses for years, and have STRUGGLED. The craftsmanship of Simon and Garfunkel goes DEEP. Explore it with me and see why it is so difficult to sing a 2nd harmony part along with the masters.
Well, this is my family. The real us...just after we crossed the Mississippi River, headed across Iowa and into Missouri, on the way to John's grandpa's farm. At this point, we've been road-tripping for 9 days, and we may be a little loopy, but I still convinced them to sing a bit. I hope you enjoy these crazy wonderful people I'm proud to call my family. Songs: "I'll Fly Away" written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley "The Star Spangled Banner" by John Stafford Smith and Francis Scott Key 1814
I don't always ask my family to sing in five part harmony on road trips, but they were nice enough to agree and help me make my video for the day. Here is "Sweet Hour Of Prayer" and some shenanigans.
This is my very simple method for how to start playing solo jazz piano. After watching this video, players should be able to take care of the melody, the comping and the bass line, all by themselves.
After the release of my Earthworks PM40 review today, they called me up and told me.....
